Late Night Beignets! :)

After some Hand Grenades and Hurricanes on Bourbon Street, it's time for some late night food! :P

You can't go to New Orleans and not get beignets...and beignets mean Cafe du Monde! It's open 24 hours!! :)

It was almost 2am and there were still a lot of traffic coming in and out of Cafe du Monde. They are known for their beignets. It's French for "fried dough", basically like a square donut and typically sprinkled with powdered sugar.

We ordered a couple Beignets (1 order has 3) $2.14~ to share. You have to be careful eating these because the powdered sugar gets everywhere! haha. It's sooo good. Freshly made. Mmmm! The warm fried dough with the powdered sugar was great. And it wasn't too sweet even with the sugar on top. I like these better than regular donuts because they were a little more substantial. Sometimes I feel like I can eat donuts forever because they never fill me up. But just one (or 2) of these is enough. hehe. They were so yummy. Great with coffee, tea, or hot chocolate!

**Note: You can also buy the little paper hats that the waiters wear. They are 15 cents a piece. haha!**
