There's only one location of Your Pie in DFW right now and it's located in Frisco. It's a really long way from Rockwall but I'm so glad I decided to go to their media dinner a couple weeks ago. The concept is like a Chipotle but for pizza... you basically build your own. They also have Signature pizzas if you don't want to byo. We were there celebrating the first day of summer as well as the limited release of their Peach Prosciutto Pie.
Your Pie - Frisco

Price: $
Your Pie first started in Georgia in 2008. In 2016, they started expanding out of the Southeast. They have over 50+ locations across the US now. Quite impressive! I didn't have much expectations going in, to be honest. We have plenty of build-your-own pizza concepts in Dallas already and they're all pretty decent. But I was in for a very pleasant surprise!
When we arrived, we were warmly greeted. The PR ladies did a fabulous job at this event. They socialized, helped serve when needed, and came by to check on us frequently. :) Since it was a media event, we asked what we were supposed to do. They said just find a seat and they'll be bringing out some of the featured pizza.
Their pizzas are 10 inches... perfectly individual sized. And all $7.99~
Peach Prosciutto Pie (olive oil, mozzarella, ricotta, parmesan, fresh peaches, prosciutto, chopped basil, honey balsamic glaze) Seasonal. Back for a LIMITED TIME.

I really didn't know what to expect from this pizza. It's definitely the first time I'm going to try a pizza with peaches on it. Y'all... it rocked my world. First of all, the pizza dough/crust is one of the best I've ever had. Ever. I was told that it's the owner's recipe. Well done, sir, cuz it's fantastic! The crust is just the right thickness and the texture was perfection. It had just the right amount of chewiness and the edges were crisped just enough. They cook all their pizzas in a brick oven, like they do in Italy. Plus the peach and prosciutto combo is kind of a popular pairing now. The peaches were juicy and not overly sweet. But the sweetness paired with the light ricotta cheese and salty prosciutto was just the perfect flavor. It was extremely popular with the media crowd that night. I ate a whole one by myself. And even when cold... it's still good! I never really eat cold pizza. So you better get your butt over there soon since this is limited time!!!

The Nat (basil pesto, mozzarella, feta, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, chicken).
We wanted to try another pizza so we ordered this... also one of their signature pizzas. It was good, but after the Peach Prosciutto, it wasn't as interesting. haha. I think the main issue is that this pizza didn't have ricotta. The ricotta in the pizza really adds a light creaminess to everything. I think that should be a standard now. haha. But the chicken was super tender. And honestly, it was a great pizza, just overshadowed by the peach prosciutto perfection.
Southern Heat (buffalo sauce, mozzarella, red onions, jalapenos, chicken; served with ranch or blue cheese dressing).
I got to try a slice of this. It was good that they didn't bring me a whole pie because I would've devoured it and hated myself. haha. This was sooooo good! It really does have some heat to it, so only get it if you can stand spicy. There's actual heaps of chopped jalapenos throughout the top. A friend ordered one and added bacon on top. Genius!!! I highly recommend this one as well.
Well... I pretty much ate TWO whole pizzas by myself that night. Great self control, amiright? :P But serious, that dough... it's just that good. I couldn't stop.
But then... we had to have dessert!! They offer several flavors of gelato. The flavors change often and they also feature seasonal flavors from time to time.
Gelato:
1 scoop $1.99~
2 scoops $2.99~
3 scoops $3.99~
After trying EVERY SINGLE flavor. I settled on the Strawberry Balsamic which is limited edition too. It was so good. You can see there are actual chunks of strawberries throughout. It wasn't overly sweet or heavy, so I didn't feel more guilty about more eating. haha.
What a fantastic dinner. I was beyond impressed with the quality of food. That dough.... OMG. I can still remember the texture of it while chewing. Droolingggggg! I really hope business continues to boom for them. And pretty please open up a few more locations in Dallas (ahem*Rockwall*ahem). That would be great, thanks. :P

Oh Santorini... it's been at the top of my travel list forever. So why not go for our honeymoon. It really is a beautiful place. You can't walk 2 steps without snapping a picture...at least I couldn't. It made our "15 min" walk from Imerovigli (where we stayed) to Fira more like 45 minutes. hahaha.
There was certainly an abundance of food. But it was so hot during the day, I didn't really have much of an appetite. So we usually just ate a big breakfast, snacked throughout the day, then have a light/normal dinner. This is one of the first times where the trip is not all about the food. :P
Most of the places we ate at were recommended by our hotel manager. I have a separate post about our hotel, which is basically paradise. It deserves it's own post.
Aegeon Restaurant - Imerovigli. This was a short walk from our hotel. Imerovigli is a small town between Oia and Fira. We liked it a lot. It was less crowded and much quieter.
Fresh Tagliatelle (from cuttlefish ink with grouper fillet) 19,80E~ Very good but was overshadowed by my salmon. hehe. I love me some squid ink pasta tho!
Grilled Salmon (with steamed vegetables, quinoa, and hollandaise sauce) 18,50E~ One of the best salmon I've ever had. Beautifully presented too. The salmon was cooked to perfection and was crispy on the outside. The entire bottom of the fish was crispy!
Lemon Meringue Tart. This was very good. Again, plating is nice. The crust wasn't super hard to cut into as I've experienced a lot with lemon tarts. It was quite large too.
Cappuccino 4,00E~
These were given to us with the check. Complimentary.
Raki - an unsweetened, anise-flavored distilled spirit. I've become a super duper lightweight since before the wedding since alcohol made me break out, so I could barely handle 2 sips of this. My husband drank it all. He really enjoyed it. haha.
Mosaiko - homemade chocolate/biscuit cake. First time having this. Sooooo good. But they don't sell it. It's homemade. So I had to look up the recipe when we got back to the states. Gotta make it sometime!
Fira:
Gelato. We went to this place twice during our trip. They had some interesting flavors. And also really yummy looking desserts. We didn't try any of those tho.
#FoodBar. This was snack one day. A cute little shop. The chairs were swings!
Pork Skewer 1,50E~ Basically pork belly on a stick. With a little salt. Deeeelish!
Pita with Pork Gyros 2,50E~ Pretty tasty!
Crepe House
Loopino (mix of milk and white chocolate, fresh banana, caramel syrup) 6,00E~ It was ok. The crepe was well made, but needed ice cream for sure!
Oia. We were headed to Ammoudi Bay for some fresh seafood, as recommended by our hotel manager. It's at the farthest end of Oia. So we got there a little earlier to check out the town. It's nice, but sooo packed. Everyone was there waiting to see the famous sunset.
We came by the Crazy Donkey - cute little cafe on the way to Ammoudi Bay. Someone had recommended it to me through FB so we went in to check it out. My husband wanted to get something refreshing to drink anyways. It's hot in Santorini. Very hot!
Watermelon Juice. As fresh as can be. My husband loved it on a hot day.
Brownie. All their desserts looked amazing. I started perusing the display case when he was looking at the menu and I HAD to get something. Even if I was to take one bite. haha. I've noticed they like to bake their brownies like a round cake and cut slices out of it. I saw it at several bakeries. It was dark, and yummy.
We also got Kataifi to go since we had the ice cream flavor in Athens. And we've never had it. Were not fans of it...haha. Too much of the hair stuff and needed more filling. The inside is like the inside of a baklava.
Ammoudi Bay. To get to this place, you have to climb down over 200+ steps. And be careful of the donkey doo-doo! People can pay to ride donkey's up the steps. So yay for those of us on foot! Watch your step! Thank goodness it was still light when we climbed down. The way back up however.... eeeeks! hahaha.
Ammoudi Fish Tavern. There was a whole bunch of restaurants along the water serving up fresh seafood. But this is the one our hotel manager recommended and had made a reservation for us.
Agioritiki Eggplant Salad (baked local flasks or white aubergines with garlic, onion, parsley, and extra virgin olive oil) 5,80E~ For someone that doesn't like eggplant, I sure love Greek eggplants. haha. We had it several times in Greece and all of them have been fantastic. This isn't much to look at, but it was so good.
Sun-dried Octopus (grilled) 14,50E~ Gotta have octopus! Again, delicious!!
Seafood Quartetto (salmon, shrimp, clams, white fish) 25,00E~ This was ok. I loved the white fish and the cream sauce, but the clams were super gritty. The view was nice though.
Lolita's Gelato. Cuz we can never have too much ice cream. This was on the way to the bus stop to head back to our hotel.
We rented an ATV one day and drove down to the Red Beach and Black Beach. It was cheaper than taking a cab or renting a car and more flexible than waiting around for buses. It was an interesting but still fun experience. hehe. My first time on an ATV!
The red beach was first. Beautiful, but super rocky. You have to take a short hike to get to the actual beach. And up close the water was quite dirty. Not a great place to hang out for a long time, so we only stayed for about an hour or so.
Headed to Perissa - Black Beach for some lunch!
Tranquilo - recommended by our hotel manager. HUGE salads for cheap she says.. She wasn't joking!
XL Caesar Salad (fresh green salad, grilled chicken, parmesan, corn, croutons, special Caesar sauce) 11,00E~ This thing is bigger than my head. We made it through 2/3rds and couldn't finish it. Cheapest meal yet! And they seem to put corn in their Caesar salads here, I can dig it. :P Sorry for the photo quality...
The black beach is totally my kind of place. A long row of restaurants and bars on one side, the beach and lounge chairs on the other. We parked ourselves in front of one of the restaurants. The waiters come to you on the beach, while you relax and lounge. That's the life!
Pistachio Milkshake
Waffle (butterscotch ice cream, caramel sauce)
We stuck around til dinner time and grabbed some food before heading back.
Pergola Restaurant - we just looked at their menu and walked in. The food prices in Perissa were significantly cheaper than Fira/Oia. The portions were bigger too and just as delicious!
Fried Calamari (with fish roe dip) 6,90E~ One of the best calamaris I've ever had. No breading but crispy and tender and so much flavor.
Caramelized Octopus (with fresh mashed eggplants) 8,50E~ The octopus was super tender. However, the caramelization made it quite sweet.. other than that it was good.
Sunset Sail with Spiridakos Sailing Cruises:
Our hotel also highly recommended doing a sail. It was a bit pricey but why not! We're in Greece! And I'm so glad we did it, it was a great experience. They provide everything, from transportation to and from hotel, give you towels, tour around the island, visit the caldera, and even cook you a feast! The meal was magnificent and I'm so impressed it was all cooked on a catamaran!
Spaghetti with Tomato Sauce, Grilled Chicken, Grilled Shrimp, Greek Salad, Crispy Fried Shrimp, Bread, and Dips. So delicious and so much food. I was stuffed!
Last day in Fira:
We went souvenir shopping and got some snacks. Randomly walked by this little cafe...and had to stop by their dessert display...
We had one night in Athens before flying out early the next morning, so we stayed in the airport hotel, Sofitel. Went to one of their restaurants, Mesoghaia, for dinner.
The bread was free here, so we ate ALL of it. hahaha
Traditional Moussaka (slices of potatoes, eggplant, zucchini, and minced beef; finalized with a "mornay" sauce) 16,00E~ I realized I haven't had a single moussaka since I've been here. And it's one of my favorite Greek dishes so I had to get it. It was beautiful. The prettiest presentation of moussaka I've ever seen, and I think one of the tastiest too! So glad I got it.
Crispy Cod (tempura style garnished with local greens, homemade mashed potato, and aioli sauce with saffron from Kozani) 16,00E~ This was another story... left a lot to be desired. Portion was pretty small too. Luckily the moussaka was huge so I shared.
I think it was a pretty good food overall. But believe me when I say the food wasn't the best part. Everyone should experience Santorini sometime. And splurge to get the nice hotels on the side of the cliff, with the cave like architecture. It's amazing!
~~ CHOMP CHOMP ~~
We went to Greece for our Honeymoon. Probably the top destination on my travel list and I was super excited!
We hit quite a few obstacles on the way to Athens. But that didn't stop us from eating! haha. (E stands for Euro by the way. :P)
The way to Athens:
SFO Airport - Chicken Pesto Pizza.
Getting through check-in and security at SFO International was a nightmare. Mainly because Air France is extremely inefficient. We waited over an hour and half in line at the check in counter purely because they are slow. Then security was another hour. We thought we had plenty of time to chill and get lunch but we barely had time to order food and take it on to the plane. Best pizza ever since we didn't get to eat lunch until about 4PM.
CDG Airport. We missed our connecting flight because Air France sucks and every flight is always delayed. :( So we were stuck in Paris for 7+ hours waiting for the next available flight. And before you say Paris is not so bad to be stuck in... this is the airport, we didn't dare leave. And they have surprisingly few food options in the terminal we were stuck in.
Of course there's Ladurée everywhere. But so expensive, so I just snapped a pic. hahaha.
We got some food vouchers so were able to get some dinner. And of course, our rescheduled flight was also delayed over an hour... didn't get into Athens until almost midnight. Sigh.
ATHENS -- 1 day bonanza! Since we lost half due to flight delays, we only had 1 day to see the sights. So we woke up early, despite getting in so late and hit up the Breakfast Buffet at the Athens Gate Hotel. They have a roof top restaurant with a great view. On one side is the Temple of Zeus, on the other is the Acropolis.
Later we headed towards the Acropolis. We had to walk through this area called Plaka which had a ton of shops and restaurants. We got some Gelato.
Late Lunch in Plaka:
Bread 1E~ per person. They didn't ask us if we wanted this, just gave it to us and charged us for it.. wtf.
Greek Salad 5,50E~
Pork Gyros 9,00E~ The best Gyro I've ever had I think. The meat was just so tender and flavorful. And that sauce... I think it's made of crack. And I don't think I've ever had a pork gyro before. In the states we usually just find lamb/beef, or chicken.
Melon Juice 4,00E~
Latte
Dinner:
Poikili Stoa in Monastiraki. I read that this place had a really great view of the Acropolis and wanted to see it at sunset. I'm not sure how old that article is, but there's now a church or some structure obstructing the view. Oh wells. We still got some food.
Grilled Octopus 13,00E~ Really delicious. The Greeks really know how to cook their octopus. We ate it frequently during our trip and all were fabulous.
Mushroom Pie 6,00E~ This was also delicious. Think of a cream of mushroom soup stuffed in a crispy flaky pastry. Yum!
We saved room for dessert because we knew there was a gelato shop right by the restaurant. Kataifi is so amazing as a gelato. Not a big fan of the actual dessert though. We tried it later in Santorini.
And mint chocolate chip.
Late night eats: Kebab/Souvlaki Shop. On the way back to the hotel we kept passing by this shop so decided to get a late snack.
Pork Souvlaki (with pita) 2,30E~ Nothing like the pork gyro from lunch. It was no good.
Falafel Souvlaki (with pita) 2,80E~ - They put so much sauce that everything was soggy and just sour from the tzatziki.
Beef Kebab Skewer 1,70E~ It looked really gross. And I didn't care for the flavor or that it was overcooked.
We had to get these to go since there were no seating. We walked 5 min back to our hotel and everything was soggy already. It was very disappointing. I've had way better in Dallas. At least it was pretty cheap.
Blue Star Delos - Ferry to Santorini.
We're heading to Santorini! Which is the main portion of the honeymoon. We went by ferry so we can see the sights and experience it. It takes about 8-9 hours for the entire trip though so be prepared if you get sea sick. I barely felt the current. It was a really smooth sail. I paid a little extra for us to be in the business lounge section. I'm so glad I did that. It was very spacious and we found a good table. Waiters come to you and you can order food from the cafe.
Breakfast:
Spinach Pie 2,90E~
Chocolate Croissant 2,50E~
Biscolato (chocolate, biscuit, caramel sauce, foamed milk) 4,60E~ This drink was amazing!!!!! Sooooo good!
Lunch:
Goody's Club Sandwich (toasted bread with bacon, cheese, smoked ham, lettuce, tomato, and mayo; served with fries) 6,50E~
Caesar Salad with Chicken (chicken strips mixed with fresh lettuce, corn, croutons, grated cheese, olive oil vinaigrette) 6,50E~
Not bad... not anything spectacular either.
Sweet and Sour Pork (with fried rice). Meh. The fried rice was ok. That pork was super sweet... Bleh.
I have 2 separate posts for Santorini since we were there for almost a week. Seriously paradise, y'all. I can't wait to go back. Stay tuned!
